Wall of Windows with Eze-Breeze

One of the descriptions we use in the Eze-Breeze Retail Store is "Wall Of Windows". When designing for outdoor living spaces, most people want as much open viewing space as possible. One of the great ways to do this is with our horizontal side sliders.

Think of Side Sliders like very large multi-panel patio doors with multiple sliding panels. The photo above shows a wide expanse of sliding panels in the closed position. They can all be slid to the left or the right to open your room to the outdoors. With the addition of the sliding or fixed screen options, you can keep the bugs out!

Horizontal Side sliders have multiple uses:

1. Sliding windows - can be installed on a short kneewall if you don't want to use them as a door, but want to be able to cover a wide width. When all panels are slid open, you get a full uninterrupted view. 
2. Sliding doors - these sliding panels can be mounted at floor level and come with tracks that allow you to walk over the threshold. The panels can stack behind each other for up to 75% opening and even be installed as a pocket door for 100% open. Great for pool or hot tub rooms.
3. Under deck rooms - used to create rooms under second floor decks. Since the supports are already in place for the deck, you can span the whole length (up to 20') and make a great space to enjoy the outdoors.
4. Garage Conversions - keep the screen out of your garage with units installed in your garage door openings. These units have a drive-over threshold and can be installed in front of the garage door so it still operates. 

Another use of the Eze-Breeze Side Sliding panels is on existing porches or decks that require railings per building codes. The units can be mounted on the inside of the railing or posts to allow for many configurations that provide 3 season room living and screen porch enjoyment. When ordering, we will ask you what type of installation you are doing so you get the correct options on your unit.

The basics of Eze-Breeze 3 Season room windows - vinyl glazing & tracks

We often make the assumption that everyone knows what an Eze-Breeze Sliding Panel window is. But, I thought it might be nice to go through some of the "buzz" words about this window.

Flexible vinyl glazing

First, let's explain vinyl glazing. These windows have no glass. A very thick vinyl is used instead of glass. This vinyl is very flexible and light weight which allows for creation of much larger windows than a regular glass based unit. 

Another benefit of vinyl glazing means there is no glass to break. When creating an enclosure around your hot tub or by the pool, the Eze-Breeze window keeps you safe from slips and falls that could otherwise result in broken glass windows.

Second, the sliding panels travel in a track. Most vertical units (slide up and down) have 4 tracks. This means all four panels slide up and down within their own track. There is an overlap on each track, so if you pull one up or down the rest "latch on" and come follow along. On a 4 track system, you can get a full 75% opening to your screen, if you nest them together.

There are side sliding windows available, also. These can get real interesting and do everything from a standard two track window where each side slides and up to 8 tracks with multiple sliding vents, some of which are vinyl and some of them can be screen. This is often called a "wall of windows". They can also be used as sliding doors. Please contact us if you are looking for some sort of side sliding units. Can you use Eze-Breeze windows with a fireplace?

For many homeowners, you might like a heat source for your 3 season room.We are asked often if the Eze-Breeze Windows are practical or even usable if you add a fireplace.

The answer is YES!

One of my favorite photos with a fireplace is this one.

The thermal efficiency of the vinyl glazing is about the same as single pane glass.

The things to consider will be keeping the windows far enough away from the flame or sparks. And, make sure you provide the correct installation of your gas or electric fireplaces. The photo above shows the 4 panels in the open position, slid all the way to the top.

With the Eze-Breeze Windows you can create a 3 season room that is great for whatever wetaher comes your way.

Convert a screen room into a 3 Season room

Here is a very simple conversion of an existing screen porch to a 3 season room with Eze-Breeze sliding panel windows.

You have all seen one of these. Over the years the screens get old and start to fall off. Plus, when it rains everything gets wet.

But by removing the screens and the screen bracing, look at the great room you get by installing the Eze-Breeze 3 season room windows. You can be outside even in bad weather!

And these units are so simple to install. They are custom made to fit your openings and just screw on from the outside. The vertical 4 tracks are shown in the closed position.
